Condemnations brought in Mortgage scam ring
Monday announced Federal prosecutors to indictments in a mortgage plan that siphoned off almost $13 million in house equity and persecuted more than 100 homeowners who had been looking to avoid foreclosure.
Dozens of public in California and elsewhere misplaced their homes in the rip-off, which prosecutors say was direct by Charles Head of La Habra. He and others eighteen face allegations that they quarried on homeowners who were stressed to make payments on changeable rate and other mortgages.
Under the rip-off, homeowners looking foreclosure were promised minor house payments and even hard cash upfront to help give bills if they granted to another name add to their home’s heading. The victims were lead to believe they were paying rental fee to the investor as they got their money back in order.
According to the uncap indictments, Head and the others really used the plan to switch the names on the heading, take control of the houses, refinance them and amble away with whatever homeowners equity had built up.
